I'm going to say it's a current member.
I was in Providence for much longer than I'd liked.
And I don't want to waste much time writing all the bullshit that takes place in it.
You can see that through various other EX MEMBER platforms.
But it is a manipulative, mind controlling, grooming, sex cult. of course not everyone experiences the sex side of it. but trust me, it's happening even after Jeong Myeong Seok has come out of prison and has an ankle bracelet.
SO thankful to have SOMEHOW got out of it.

It’s hard to trust or believe accusations that don’t provide substantive evidence to back up the claims.
It’s easy to post negative or hurtful comments about someone else with little or no accountability.

To EB, I don't appreciate all your claims about providence. I have been in providence for over 15 years, travelled to many countries and visited many providence churches. Pastor Jung's prison sentence was based on non-concrete and purely verbal evidences with contradicting verbal claims (see jmsprovidence.com for details). If you are getting your info from wikipedia, as well as unreliable one-sided claims from ex-members that act as an echo chamber, then I ask that you try to be more objective.
Manipulative, mind controlling, grooming? What have we done but provide teachings as other churches do? Does that make all churches "manipulative, mind controlling, grooming"? Does that also make all religions and institutions that even provide some form of education or teaching as well? "manipulative, mind controlling, grooming" as well?
Sex cult? Providence teaches about a strict adherence to biblical values of purity and overcoming of sexual temptations of the world. I've lived it to know it. Sexually obsessed people have mirrored their own fetishes upon providence and made Pastor Jung and providence a scapegoat.
We have many families, children, members in providence who live joyful and pure lives of faith based on Pastor Jung's teachings. We will not be fazed by such outlandish and hurtful claims of Pastor Jung and providence.

After the netflix show, I must say, JMS providence is a disgusting unlawful grooming cult who's brainwashed young followers to do the unthinkable. As a religious community, everyone must stand up to all the wrong doings that jung has done and clearly this hierarchy of jung being the leader has made everyone think whatever he did is right. This is wrong in every level. This church needs to disband and start anew.
